Sandy Hodges - Defending Freedom
Sandy Hodges has served the citizens of Wagoner County for the past 15 years as County Assessor. She boldly promotes constitutional governance, personal liberties, fiscal restraint, and accountability for all citizens. Sandy is the Republican candidate with a proven record of conservative, America-first principles.
Sandy has demonstrated leadership, integrity, moral character, and proven experience throughout her career. Her priorities are God, Family, and Country. Servant leadership and a commitment to doing what is right motivates Sandy in all her pursuits.
Sandy and her husband Mike attend Victory Christian Church. They have three grown children and seven grandchildren. They and their family all reside in northeastern Oklahoma. In their free time, you will find them watching their grandkids at the ballfield or entertaining friends and family at the pool.

Constitutional Principles
- The Purpose of Government – The function of government is to protect each citizen’s God-given rights of Life, Liberty, and Property, and to administer justice. Government does not exist to manage or control our lives.
As your State Representative, Sandy will work to limit the power and influence of government in the lives of the citizens of House District 12 and for all Oklahomans. - The right to life is guaranteed in our Constitution. All human life, born and unborn, is precious and must be protected at every stage of life.
As your State Representative, Sandy will support legislation that stands for the sanctity of life at all stages.
Individual liberty
- As a lifelong conservative, Sandy strongly believes in the principles of Individual Liberty, Economic Freedom, and Free Market Economics.
As your State Representative, Sandy will make every effort to ensure her constituents, and all Oklahomans, are afforded the opportunity to thrive economically. - Educational freedom and choice is the right of all families. Each parent and family has the right to choose the best possible education for their children.
As your State Representative, Sandy will support educational choice and do her part to ensure education is focused on academic excellence free of social indoctrination.
Fiscal Restraint
- Government officials need to be mindful that the only money the government has to spend is the citizens’ money. Consequently, an attitude of fiscal restraint and accountability must always be applied when appropriating the people’s money.
As your State Representative, Sandy will remain committed to fiscal restraint and accountability, exposing abuse and corruption, and fighting to eliminate such practices.
Accountability and Transparency
- As a Constitutional Republic, we are a nation based on the rule of law, and our citizens are guaranteed equal protection under the law. It is the responsibility of Federal, State, County, and Municipal government to protect the Life, Liberty, and Property of the citizens from individuals who break the law and threaten these rights.
As your State Representative, Sandy will fight to protect the rights of the citizens of House District 12 and join with other legislators to likewise defend the rights of all Oklahomans.
County Government
- Sandy has served Wagoner County as Assessor since January of 2011. The Assessor’s Office is responsible for assessing property values. Tax rates are set by the Legislature or a vote of the people. Customer service, fiscal responsibility, and ensuring that fair and equitable appraisal methodologies are applied to each property have been her top priorities.
- As Assessor, she has updated appraisal methodologies and technologies to current national standards in order to alleviate the potential for corruption.
- Sandy is an active member of the County Assessors of Oklahoma Association and Past President and member of the Oklahoma Chapter of the International Association of Assessing Officers.
- The Wagoner County Assessor’s Office, under Sandy’s leadership, has achieved the highest ranking earning a 100% score in fiscal year 2024.
Proven Leadership
- Sandy was a founding member of the Coweta Rotary club, and has served in the Coweta Chamber of Commerce, and in the Broken Arrow Republican Women’s Club.
- Sandy has been a leader in pro-life activism from the inception of the movement and worked with national and state leaders such as Phyllis Schlafly and Bunny Chambers.
- She was also elected as a Delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2016, 2020, and 2024.
- Sandy has served as Chair of the Wagoner County GOP, and as the county’s GOP State Committeewoman.
- Sandy has participated in numerous professional conferences and conventions as both an attendee and a presenter.
Teaching Experience
- Sandy invested seventeen years as a high school instructor in both public and private schools.
- Her teaching career also includes serving as a class sponsor, an event coordinator, and a volleyball and fast pitch softball coach.
Education
- Sandy holds an Associate’s Degree from Tulsa Community College, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Oklahoma State University.
- Additionally, she is certified in secondary education with an emphasis in these subjects: World History, U. S. History, U. S. Government, Economics, Geography, Political Science, Oklahoma History, Advanced Placement U. S. History, and Advanced Placement Comparative Governments.
